Kop-Z

....His creative journey is profoundly shaped by his upbringing on the industrial outskirts of Salford alongside the juxtaposed reality of his East African roots. His artistic expression represents a fusion of diverse musical genres, drawing influences from rave, post-punk, reggae, and jungle, carving out his own individualistic sector of electronic tech rebellion. From a young age, Kop-Z developed a deep interest in the history and geography of his environment, coupled with a fascination for the digital realm. His passion for video games, science fiction, and computer technology has significantly informed his artistic vision, allowing him to seamlessly merge both physical and digital worlds. Kop-Z's sonic exploration began with an immersion into drum and bass and industrial experimentation. Over time, he cultivated an obsession with worldwide bass music, drawing inspiration from cutting-edge genres such as footwork, noise, techno, IDM, dub, and the forward-facing sounds emerging from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. This eclectic mix of contemporary and unorthodox musical styles has culminated in a distinctive sound that continues to push artistic boundaries. With a swathe of releases under his belt, such as his critically acclaimed ‘A Non-Equilibrium Thermodynamic System’, Kop-Z continues to innovate through unique live improvisational sets, creating an immersive experience for the audience as well as anthropologically informed DJ journeys.
