Brasserie de la Senne was born of a meeting in May 2002 between Yvan De Baets and Bernard Leboucq, during the second edition of the Zinneke parade in Brussels, for which Bernard had created, as an amateur, the now famous Zinnebir. They began their career as professional brewers at the end of 2003, building a microbrewery in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, in the former warehouse of the Moriau brewery. They chose the name ‘Sint-Pieters Brouwerij’. After two years in business, the premises became too small.
